Waverly Cats is a non-profit organization promoting the conservation of big catfish and catch and release tournaments.

Kansas City Catfish/Brad Kilpatrick have agreed to assume the sponsership of Waverly Cats.  They have graciously asked me continue as the host for the August 2010 tournament.

Our central location on the Missouri River at Port Waverly in Waverly, MO allows us to draw catfishermen from many states. Many of these are some of the best known  tournament catfishermen.

We have two catfish night tournaments each year on the 3rd weekend of  July and August.  A $110.00 early entry fee if paid one week prior to the tournament date.  Entry fee day of tournament $130.00 CASH only.  Entry fee includes big fish. We have a minimun guarantee $1000.00 for first place and a minimun guarantee of $500.00 for big fish . We have been having 50 to 60 boats per tournament and growing.  

Since we do not allow dead fish to be checked our Tournament Director Francis Jennings is available all night so that fishermen may weigh in any fish that may be stressed.

July 2010 Tournament Results

32 boats participated with a very high river level of 22 feet.  The top 15 boats received cash and other prizes.

Big fish was 47.7 lb Bluecat caught by the team of Clint Hussy and Jim Parker. Hussy and Parker also came in first place with total lbs of 74.5.  It was their day to win because they also won the free entry drawing for the next tournament.
